Mike Jacobs

Senior Financial Planner

“Investment advice is an important part of achieving financial goals. So is understanding how much risk you are taking, and what the execution of our plan will take. We will periodically review your objectives, your progress, and what adjustments are needed to achieve your investment goals. Ultimately, success can only be achieved through attention to detail and the step by step review and execution of our plan.”

Mike Jacobs, Financial Planner at Szarka Financial, began investing in 1983 as he started his career in medical device sales and sales management. Throughout the next 30 years, Mike worked with four different advisors. He experienced the good and bad of what can happen, when advice is in the client’s best interest, and when it is not. As his knowledge of investing grew, his ability to evaluate risk also grew. After a successful 30 year career in medical device sales management, Mike decided to take on investing and financial planning full time. In 2013, Mike became licensed and began to share his knowledge in wealth management.

For those who have considerable wealth, taxes will play a formidable role in their success. Mike shows investors how their investments, interest, dividends, and even their life insurance will be taxed and what role they could play in their financial outcome. He helps clients create a portfolio that offers flexibility to minimize taxes when income is needed from those investments.

Those that are finding success throughout their financial lives will go through stages. Early on, it is all about paying for essentials of life. Next, it’s preparing for the unexpected. Then, the question becomes ensuring your lifestyle for the long term through discretionary income (what’s left after the bills). Finally, do you wish to create a legacy for your family or your favorite charity? Mike will address each of your concerns and help you to navigate through each stage.

Mike is licensed in Insurance, Disability, Long Term Care, and also holds his Series 6, 63, 7, and 65 securities registrations. He is a graduate of John Carroll University and while getting his degree, he was a practicing Realtor.  Mike grew up on the west side of Cleveland in Brooklyn, Ohio and now resides in Strongsville. Mike is also on the Advisory Boards of two medical device companies.

Mike and his wife, Linda, enjoy volunteering at their church and support various charitable organizations. They are also active in planning for and supporting the fundraising efforts of Friends of Diamond Blackfan Anemia. This organization raises money to find a cure for this rare blood disorder.
