Alex Menassa, MT, CPA, JD

Senior Financial Planner

“Financial planning strives to help you achieve the retirement that you’ve always wanted and worked so hard for, with more time to enjoy yourself and more income to explore life’s possibilities.”

Alex Menassa is a Senior Financial Advisor at Szarka Financial. Specializing in tax and estate planning issues related to IRAs, Alex has, since 1999, incorporated into his management of a family’s wealth the critical components of effective tax strategies, estate planning, asset preservation and preparation for handling potential elder care issues.

Financial independence in retirement doesn’t just ‘happen’; It takes careful planning and plenty of work to get there. Alex Menassa’s goal with financial planning is to provide clients the right tools to put together a ‘road trip’ so that they know where they are headed and what they have to do to achieve the retirement they have always pictured for themselves and their family. He works together as a team with his clients to assist them in getting to where they want to be to have a comfortable retirement.

Alex is co-author of the Amazon #1 Best Seller Money Talks: Life Lessons to Help You Plan Now, Save Wisely, and Retire Well, which was released in November of 2015. He holds a bachelors degree in accounting and a masters degree in taxation from The University of Akron, plus a JD degree from The University of Akron’s School of Law. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is licensed to practice law before the Supreme Court of Ohio. During Law School, Alex was the recipient of the Bancroft-Whitney Award for his legal presentation skills during oral arguments before a mock jury, and was published in the Akron Tax Journal.

Prior to joining Szarka, Alex Menassa worked with the Private Banking group at KeyBank, which specialized in planning for high net worth clients. He also practiced as a CPA, focusing his time on research projects related to tax planning, estates, trusts and corporations.
